Eric is an experienced professional in field work and producing written Deactivation or Site Re-habilitation plans with accurate costing. He has worked in all areas of BC and in many different ground and soil types. He is innovative and cost conscious in his prescription work with practical working knowledge of machinery types and their capabilities and limitations.

He is an expert in the use of Bio-engineering practices (also see bio-engineering page on this site) to augment hard engineering solutions for;

• Slope Stability

• Water Management

• Sediment Control

Eric is experienced expert on the prescribing and the use of Explosives for Deactivation where machine access is restricted.

For Forest Renewal BC, a deactivation plan is known as separate Level I and Level II Assessments.

• The Level I plan is a higher level plan that takes a broad overview look at the area to be treated (roads and cut-block areas) and relates it to the whole watershed and investigates the needs and requirements for all persons that may be concerned with access to the site or who's access may be restricted by the planned work. It also looks to the needs and requirements of Wildlife, Fish, Re-vegetation, Harvest species and any other matters that may concern the area.
• The Level II plan is a site specific prescription for site remediation. This plan details the machine and hand work required along with a detailed budget.
